Just some of the other attractions near the villa in Belek.
All the streams of the region head towards the Mediterranean from the slopes of the
Taurus Mountains, these result in some lovely waterfalls, of which there are more than
twenty. The loveliest of these are:
Duden Falls, 15 km. north of Antalya
Kursunlu Falls 18 km. along the Antalya-Alanya highway
Manavgat 3 km. north of Manavgat town
Saklikent is approximately 1.5 hours drive from the villa. The ski season runs from mid-December
through to the end of April with the best snow from January to March. Visitors can ski in the
morning then drive down to the coast and swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean in the
afternoon. There are two runs with t-bar lifts at the ski resort that will appeal to beginner,
intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
Loggerhead sea turtles and green sea turtles (much rarer) use the Belek beaches as nesting
grounds. In August they can be seen at night when they leave the sea to lay their eggs in
the sand. The turtles can be seen swimming off the coast during the rest of the season.
There is a small zoo and horse-riding school 5 minutes drive away. The zoo is situated within
the pine forest offering pleasant riding trails through the trees.
Belek is in a natural bowl formed by the Taurus mountains, providing many opportunities for

Karain, the largest cave in Turkey to have been inhabited, Altinbesik Dudeni, one of the most
unusual subterranean lakes in the world to name two. Both are within driving distance of the
villa, but visitors need to ensure they come prepared.
